The Black Box from MP.

Whats it all about?

This is the first time ive seen a supplement company sell something and you dont know whats in it.

I cant work out if its a good or bad idea but for your £20 you get this.

Supposedly £57 worth of products, all seems a bit strange to me. £57 retail could be a lot different to what there actually worth like clearance items. I'm not having a go at it im just wondering if anyone is going to buy it?

Hi redwing,
A colleague of mine has recently invested in said item. It would be an understatement to say that he is dis-pleased with his purchase. So much, in fact, that he can not bring himself to post on this forum to deter other people in making the same error as he currently can not see through his tears. The black box includes things like shower gel, a protein shaker, small pre-workout shots, smoothies, a two-way dildo, rainbow coloured anal beads, several bottles of lube and hair gel. Utterly pointless.

P.S. He wanted me to inform you guys that the box it comes in is very nice though.

P.P.S. He said he is disgruntled.

I received my latest purchase from MP yesterday, i thought about spending another 20 quid for this black box thingie but not knowing what is in it is putting me off, it might well contain some crap items like a shaker when i have a house full of shakers from various supplement companies etc.

Daft idea from a supplement company IMO.

Supplements usage is very specific to peoples goals.  I can see this as a random purchase as a gift, or maybe if they made them at least a little specific (gainer box, cutting box, runners box, etc) so that the supplements are at least compatable.  What if it contains a mass gainer, and a bottle of CLA pills?

It's both an idea by the marketing team (seemed good at the time ha ha) and some thing to add to their line to get the GF buying 'you that protein stuff you like.... it's an xmas gift' lol. Like the stuff, when they try bless them, they get you from H&B.

MP have just knocked the price down to £15 for this Black Box gift idea, would still love to know what is in it although for only 15 quid it might be worth a gamble just to find out.

why would you even consider buying it? the only supps it probably has is the stuff they are always giving away with orders, such as cla, thermoshi'te and other similar rubbish.

It probably has some decent stuff in there. I doubt MP are stupid enough to include opposing products such as a mass gainer and fat burner. Probably a couple of supplements which can be used year round, and a few accessories including maybe a bottle, clothing, straps.

Actually my opinion has changed - some reviews are now on the website. Average 2.57 out of 5 stars:

Not a bad boxNot bad for 20 quid, definitely wouldn't pay full price though as I can't see 57 pounds worth of stuff in there, got 3 shots mixed a shaker and shower gels and a ready mixed bottle of protien shake For 20 pound it's good though and a great gift for any friends or family that train a lot

My Worst PurchaseTerrible gift box, I'm sure people buying it would be expecting products from MyProtein, but half of it is from Men-U. I do not see the value of the box at all, the MyProtein products are definitely old stock that needed to be cleared out. The Men-u products were there to bring the price of the box up. Not what I was hoping for at all. Not to mention the fact that the gifts are not random at all, mostly everyone got the same item. Terrible.

BADI got some shots and ready mixed protein smoothie, that I think was out of date, because the milk was sour, I got the feeling that the myprotein staff just packed the box with some leftovers that they had in the warehouse. The box was no where near 57 pounds. Most of the contains went in the bin, except of the shaker.

Pretty poor by MP standardsSmall protein shakes and shots are OK. The headphones are really, really bad; literally zero bass out of them. They went straight in the bin. The grooming products are cheap and nasty and smell nasty too. A shame.

Bad purchaseNot really happy with what came to be honest, yeah the shaker is pretty good as well as the couple of protein smoothies and shots but this is nowhere near worth the region of about 60 quid. The earphones are awful and the hair product reeks like sun cream!

I think MuslceFoods had the better gift box with their protein snack offer.  I think it included quest bars, protein flapjacks, protein crisps, cookies, muffins, beef jerky (maybe one of each), but stuff that anybody can use all year round.
