The Great Gold Incline Challenge!

Ok, I stupidly volunteered in another thread to help with the upper/lower chest debate...so for a while (8 weeks?) i will be doing the following routine for chest...

2-3 x Incline press (dumbell or barbell)
2-3 x Incline flyes
2 x Incline press-ups

I will take photos...don't think I'll be able to measure accurately or that there will be measureable growth/loss TBH so I'll just post the photos later..

Keep your eye out for results, and the road to the end!

Update 1 then...ok I'm 21, 200 lbs at the mo, so don't mock my lifts!

right, incline barbell this week as it's a fave excercise!
    after warmup
    1 set 80 kg....10 reps
    1 set 100 kg...8 reps
    1 set 90x6 *drop* 70x5 *drop* 60x5...done

    Incline flyes
    1 set 12.5kg x 10
    1 set 17.5kg x 10 *drop* 7.5 kgx10...done

    Incline pushups..
2 to failure...I guess I was getting about 20 reps

Ok, conclusions so far...well it's the same day so too early to talk about DOMS..but while i was doing it chest didn't really seem to get as much of a burn as usual...front delts were on fire, as were lats?!? why oh why am i doing a routine with no dips in!!

Ps. i did tris today too...
DOMS update to come...do you guys want me to post about other days workout or just chest?

    1 x incline flyes 17.5 to failure
1 x Incline bench (will do dumbells next week promise!) 100kg to fail, dropped to 60 to fail again

Update, good to see this topic is interesting so many (!)

    Anyway.

Incline flyes warm-up then 1 set 20 kg, drop to 10
Incline Dumbells 40kg drop to 20
Incline pushups 2 sets, about 20 reps still

Was training on my own so had to use drop sets instead of forced reps etc.... This really isn't working my chest at all, this is a shoulder day. Still, nearly halfway now...starting a cycle next week so that should be interesting, if no-one is interested i might add in some flat stuff and dips?

is this routine supposed to show the development of the chest or show that doing all incline won't develop the upper chest? just wondering about your point J5

I guess I concluded there was no real site growth or loss....and when i went back to flat bench my strength had gone up on that too so...use whichever you like! although i feel incline more in the front delts personally. Also I missed dips!

Sorry the results aren't more scientific but since no-one was reading it sort of fizzled out after 5 or 6 weeks...
