Congratulations on the wedding. Nice work establishing a routine its what I'm currently trying to do .

Thank you very much.

Establishing a routine is for me very important, but also having the flexibility to cope with not being able to constantly maintain it when life get's in the way.

I also enjoy the Ed Coan plan, but I add in Russian Masters for squats.

The Russians do like they're volume.

Have you thought of one of the Wendler 531 variations? Boring But Big or Building the Monolith have a good amount of volume. You can tweak accessories as they suit and its one day per main lift.

Ivan Drago loved a bit of volume!!!

I've done 531 in the past actually, and enjoyed it because it was so easy. It is certainly a program I may revisit in the future.

I've still got a program template from a very strong and successful lifter on Sugden, which I used with great success myself in the past.

For me though, the first stage of the next fee weeks will be to get some training under my belt and remain in one piece. My current mindset is certainly geared towards the marathon and not a sprint idea. No pun intended with the geared comment either lol.

I've just realised I got your journal mixed up with Toolmonkey's!

However, my 531 recommendation still stands, its a great program if you pick the right variation. It's easy but rewarding at the same time, although progress is designed to be slow and steady which is what puts some people off.

Haha, TM is a top man.

Having used 531 in the past, I found it VERY easy to just go in and do the basic lifts, with the odd accessory at the end if time permitted. I will certainly consider this moving on, and the more I think about it the more appealing it is...

Good to see you back on it mate. At this stage just getting into the groove is good without worrying about routine yet. Although sure that will follow soon enough

All in good time mate, well that's the plan. To just go in and train without a goal hanging over me is a little odd... Just go in and move, lift, and try to improve upon the previous session really.

In time, a plan will formulate... But until then, just get up and move really. Tighten things up on all fronts and see what happens.

Another 6am session in the bag this morning, and an improvement on last weeks session. Of course, by starting out so light, it will be somewhat easy to improve as the sessions build up, but that isn't terrible in my current weak and untrained state.

Diet is a bit IIFYM due to my current finances being destroyed post wedding. I'm eating my way through a load of protein flapjacks I got from Body Building Warehouse, and other bits. While I'm still tracking all my calories, I've not gone super tight on the diet yet.

It does feel a bit strange some days, but I'm in a decent mind space to deal with it all.

I'm still fasting on non training days, then cramming in calories when I get home.

All in all, I'm not in a bad place, and hopefully can start to put more effort in training and diet as the weeks go by. I would like to return to a semi acceptable amount of strength levels before I get more invested. Again, I'm trying to take it more slowly and not jump straight back into useless ego lifts and going to heavy.

In other words, I'm carefully nursing my vagina while my inner Amazonian warrior rebuilds her world.

Thanks mate.

No vids yet, it's all very boring and all very light. I'm sure they will return in the future though if I lift anything credible again.

This mornings completed training session means that I've now done 2 weeks on the bounce and haven't exploded, or fallen apart.

It feels like a small victory in some way haha.

Strength is still way off, although I've not actually pushed it in the slightest. Fitness feels like it's improved slightly, and body weight is floating around 107 with a somewhat loose diet.

I think I'll get another couple of weeks under my belt and see where I'm at... December is never an ideal time to start a new training plan mind, but I'm sure a basic strength program will be feasible though.

I've got a catering event tomorrow, so that means a lack of sleep, and a lot of work this weekend, but all in all I'm looking forward to it.

I hope you all have great weekends.
