The McRib

I've seen ads on bus shelters round London claiming that the McRib is back in McDonald's. I don't believe I've ever had one. Is it actually any good or was there a reason it went away in the first place?

Is anything good in McD's? Last burger I had tasted like a flipflop.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain.

The plain hamburger is good. As are the hot apple pies dunked in strawberry milkshake.

The species they took it from died out.

Never tried it. On the briefly sporadic occasions I'm dragged to McD's by my grandkids I always have the chicken meals, which are very nice actually.

The power of advertising. On the ad in the bus stops the McRib looks succulent and delicious. However, I have just had one and it looked and tasted like a squished up dead rat covered in flavourless brownish sauce. Don't bother, seriously.

I've never tasted ribs, they look tasty but I'm a fussy eater and I'm almost certain I won't like them despite liking the way they look

KFC is my first choice, I did read somewhere that the most unhealthy thing in KFC is their healthy coleslaw - but that could have been nonsense

A restaurant in Manchester did their version, the MancRib for 2 weeks. It was infinitely better than the McRib

(McRib at the back for comparison)

Solita - there's one in the Northern Quarter in town, one in Didsbury and they're opening in Prestwich in march.

If you're from manchester or visiting, they're well worth a visit.

Their 'trademark' is their Big Manc:
