I don't have anything to contribute yet, maybe later if i can think of something.

I'm having one of those days, maybe one of those weeks, and i could do with reading something uplifting, remarkable, fascinating or whatever.

So contribute to this thread. Ta

Something positive? Not sure if it's what your after mate but...

I became a father at 20 and felt I'd ****ed my life up. As it turned out it was absolutely the best thing that ever happend to me and both my children have enriched my life beyond anything I might have 'missed out on' as a young bloke.

    A rhymy thing for ya....
As I walked up the mountains, I saw among the trees
A little furry bonkle with plasters on his knees
What have you done I asked him, at tear ran down his cheek
A yeddy pushed me over, he replied and wiped his beak.
Poor little furry bonkle, he looked so sad and small
I stroked his green fur gently for he'd had a nasty fall
He cheered up as I stroked him, and wagged his small blue tail
His red eyes twinkled brrightly he began to look less pale.
I picked some uncleberries and he ate them with a smile
He said he felt quite better so he ate another pile,

ahem....it does go on a bit more...but ya know...I'll leave that for another day....I know it's pants before anyone come to tell me, but what the hell, it's saturday night.....so why not.....

Mum is fighting cancer & has been through gruelling chemo and at the moment finishing radiotherapy ... she fell over the garden wall about 8-9 weeks ago and broke her hip also.  Whilst recovering from that ... 5 weeks ago her husband (my stepdad) died.

She's lost her hair, about 3-4 stone & her husband but still she carries on, she is positive and strong willed and does not give up.  Been calling her 'The Machine' lately LOL.

I hope you find that uplifting Chris

Since taking anti depressants I can stay awake all day

I blame the years of drug abuse, but I wouldn't change it for the world. They were some good nights-weekends-weeks. Doesn't time just fly by

I wish you both well. A tough time for you both that nobody should have to endure!

Yes it is tough but god the woman is a machine, I moan about the slightest little thing or gripe but when I see what she copes with, I feel ashamed really.

Just posting this for Chris, as I would like him to see that as uplifting.  It's certainly taught me a lesson lately.  Sometimes it's helpful to look around and see what others cope with to put your own life into perspective!

It's just ashame that we all usually need something like that to happen to us, for us to realise how well off we really are
