The ultimate compliment!

After seeing the pics of bent nails here i decided to give it a go. Got myself loads of 6inch nails from the local hardware shop yesterday and to my delight, my first go has been a success. Bent them all parallell. This also proved to be am awesome way of entertaining my 2 little daughters! One paid the ultimate compliment of "Wooooooaaaaaaaaaa Not even Batman could do that!!! I may have a way to go with this bending lark, but i don't think my street cred as a cool dad could'nt get any higher at the moment lol!

By the way, is it just me or can this bending thing get addictive? I only started today and at almost midnight i'm hunting high and low round my flat for something else i can bend! I see a trip to B&Q on the cards tomorrow!

She obviously has no idea how hard Batman is.

Take it easy, you can easily hurt yourself bending nails and the such.

Definately very addictive. Its great feeling that steel bend in your hands.

Start slow and not too much volume, its very stressful on the connective tissue.

Nice job, I'm very impressed if it's your first attempt at bending, you must have a very good base level of upper body and forearm strength.

Take heed of Mikeys warning though, I've had to take a week off from all bending and grip work as my forearms, wrist and palms were killing me from over bending.

Hi there, i'm just wondering if anyone could give me a run down on the different types of 6inch nail i may encounter with the bending. I ask this because after doing those nails yesterday with some effort but managing to do about a dozen straight off, i'm wondering if i happened to get some softer types? I just asked the hardware store for some 6inch nails. I'm not majorly strong, as in i am only on about 85kg's on my bench press so i'm not a big boy quite yet lol!
Actually saying that, i've just opened a box of 150mm Bright Round Wire nails (whatever that means) from Jewsons and they definately seem a little harder. It's a real struggle today to bend it. So maybe the others were a little softer?

Any info on the different grades of nail strength would be most appreciated though.

Ref taking note of Mikey's warning....Never a more truthfull word spoken Dr Helium!
I spent ages doing loads of nails, then got some more the next day and had more fun....and now i'm hurting even typing this post!!!

Feels good though. Will take it easy from now on though.
