Thickening the chest...

For some reason my chest lags behind all the rest of me. I currently bench 102.5k for 5x5 which ain't super heavy but its not light yet compared to my arms, back and shoulders development is poor.

I'm thinking perhaps on my bench to actually LOWER the weight to say about 90k and doing the reps really really slowly on the 5x5 routine.

Also, I tend to hit my chest with DB press (45k x 5) and either DB fly (30k x 5) or Machine fly (117k x5) and if feeling up to it, incline or decline smith machine press @ between 80-100k.

I'm looking to thicken it as its the only part of me that stands out as being poor . Currenly 25, 16 stone 4lbs, 20% BF.

If your not getting results from regular bench pressing then drop it,try doing weighted dips and dumbell press.

i would not just say its down to exercise choice as your doing various other exercise afterwards.

may be just try lighter weight but do more reps as your doing everything around the 5 rep level. may be try 8-12 reps as lots of people get on well with that.
i would not drop the weight to 90kg and move the weight slow. Providing when you use 100kg its controlled.

i had the same problem, i was bench pressing fairly heavy amounts but chest still looked lacking. So ive gone bk to DBs press instead and the difference is unreal. Lifting more with DBs now than i was with the bar, 130lb x 6 DBs, and chest is really increasing in size. Wish i never used a bar now.

You hit everythin 5x5 style, it isnt suited to all IMO, also use no more than 2 exercises per session and increace the reps to 8-10, incline dumbells and dips combined are a winner for me!

So for a chest day you are suggesting just incline DB press and dips? 3x8-10 or 4x8-10?

Do flat dumbell press, dips 3x8-10.

Include Barbell bench on an incline too before these two.

    could try incline db3x8-10
    flat dbell 3x8-10
    dips3x8-10

my chest was seriously lagging behind when i started as i used barbell for everything. since moving to dbells and getting a really good stretch at the bottom my chest has imporved no end

3 x 8-10 performed correctly should be more than enough
