This is depressin me

i cant work out my biceps

everytime i do a bicep curl, dumbell curl, cabel machine curl
when i let go of the weight, my arm feels like its twisting, this is when i turn my arm around into its natural postion

(so when i turn it from palm up - holdin the dumbell, to palm down - natural postion after the excersise it hurts/feels like it twists)

ive tried holdin it in different positions but the only way i can combat it is by usin puss.y weights/dumbell sizes

i used to curl an 18 but now it hurts too much

wats the deal? lack of stretchin? have i reached my peak?

stop doing all forms of curl for 6 weeks, you dont need to curls anyway.

I dont really understand the problem anyway so I cant help more.

I'm trying to understand what you mean.. I maybe on the wrong track here.. -- Are you talking about a very tight taughtness on the inside of your forearm? Whereby you're looking for your biceps to tired/pump/whatever, but end up with a burning forearm?

Do you do hammer or reverse curls?

Sound like you might have a problem bro..Do you feel any sort of grinding/clicking? Is it more elbow related or wrists? One sure fire way to know is leave the curls for a few weeks and see if other things cause the pain also. BEST OF LUCK!

    I had this exact problem.
In the groove underneath the ulna (back forearm bone). It was most painful immediately after I did straight BB curls. Basically as I set the bar down on the floor after my set and relaxed my supinated grip I'd get an acute pain as my hands twisted back into their natural position. For some reason I don't get them any more and I can't pinpoint the exact time when it stopped but I do remember that in order to reduce the pain I'd relax my grip very slowly after I set the bar down, it made me look like I had glue on my hands but it wasn't nearly as painful, hope this helps.

    burton!!

YES, i think u explained it properly

the thing is when im curling i jus KNOW the pain is goin to come
which is why it really ruins my workout

i think i shall leave the biceps for a while an see wat happens?

could it be weak forearms? or a weak wrist??

and YES, if i release the dumbell, or BB VERY slowly the pain is less then if i jus drop the BB or DB

    its very worryin tho!!!

I had the same problem myself last year and few people i train with have also suffered. i put it down to overtraining my biceps i left any curls for three weeks and it appeared to do the trick.

but as the guys say seek medical advice if your really worried.

I had same problem. I switched bars. (Ez curl, or strait) and lowered the reps.

is it on the top of your forearm (if you have your hand palm down). It could simply be that you need to strengthn that area, try doing some light reverse curls after a few weeks off and see what happens

I have just done sumoehting similar to my arm. I was working with Cables when I twisted my wrist a little, it didn't hurt to much at the time but now I have a burning sensation half way up my forearm and I am unable to turn my wrist. The quck said it was just a strain but I am unable to work with any weights apart form my legs at the mo. Just happens I suppose, can't get it right all the time.

I've got a very similar problem at the moment, almost identical. It only has a stabbing pain when you are curling with palms up (supinated)? If so then just drop all barbell curls for the next month or so and stick with chins and hammer curls. I've just had my sports therapist take a look and give me some very painful deep tissue massage and will need a few weeks treatment to sort it out.

    wow!!

wat can i say, last night i done my arms, after 4 days away from the gym an it was fine, i was curlin 18s on 5x5..

so i guess it was overtrainin that weekened my forearms and wrists
last night i was fine, it hurt 95% less then it did last week

lesson for u all: dont over train!!!

I used to get this and found it was because when I was curling a bar I had my wrists pointing down rather than cocked up. THis was putting a lot of stress on the forearms. It really hurt.

If I cock the wrists up slightly it's fine.

try throwing in under-hand grip pullups. great for the bi's but possibly easier for your problem area. change it up a bit and avoid the unnecessary pain.
