Do you ever try push press? Nice variation to the strict press and allows you to get a few more kg above your head.

Very very rarley, I have always done strict press because I have always used it to target my shoulders primarily and I feel the "push" maybe takes away from that a bit. But then you can counter argue that with saying it gets that extra few kg above! Swings and rounadabouts.

I think I will bring push press in as an actual movement probably once a week if I ever get round to entering a strongman comp!

I much prefer strict as well. Its just good to add in a variation every so often, I prob only do push press once a month. It does have some carry over so still beneficial.

Solid graft bud. Regarding push press...its a great movement but won't build strict...strict however will build push. The only thing to really bring up overhead is volume and working the weaknesses in the movement separately...it is however slow to build.

JayBoy - Yeah I may reset my strict press and start from scratch

Brett - Thanks for checking in.

Ox - Yeah as you say OHP needs the volume to build which is probably why I fail quite hard on it as I have only ever really treated it as an accessory movement.

In terms of struggling with the squats I always feel quite tight at the beginning so do need to pay more attention to warming up properly. But ny major downfall is probably mental failure, saying Ive had enough when I haven't which I think comes down to people watching you fail a squat in the gym. It shouldn't bother me but it does.

No problem lol. Its a name I used on some forums back in the day, but Homer Jay was already taken on one so I had to insert numbers, and I've stuck with it since.
