Perhaps you need to back off squats and build up again?

(not going all out today in terms of grinding as a very intense few weeks coming up at work so don't want heavy legs)

Not a massive gap between squats to go from 140ish for reps to 170ish for 1 - was that a PB attempt? Cant comment on straps as don't use them. Animal/Ox good advice for deadlift with straps.

In what way are they not working mate...sounds like you are putting them on wrong. Are you wrapping from underneath or over the top?

If you a wrapping from the top that's why its not helping, you need to wrap under the bar mate.

Yup. Wraps under the bar as you hold the wrap you will twist it tighter. The other way it gets loser.

Hard work my CV is not where it used to be a few years ago I would have this done in 15 mins.

Just an odd bits session today as my legs are in pieces from the 2 miler and my body is generally pretty wrecked atm.

JayBoy - It varies alot to be honest, mostly on the intensity. The fitness we do at work does impact my lifting alot at times though.
