Tips to make cutting tastier!

Day 3 of my first cut (102 to go!)

I am finding eating cold, plain chicken breasts very hard!
If they are freshly cooked its no problem but when they have been sat in my van in my lunchbox for 6 hours they are somewhat less appealing!!!

What can i add to make them taste of something with out too many extra calories? A pasta sauce?

    Hello TYW,

I have just started a Keto style diet and find that mixed spices do the trick for me, add great smell and flavour. or maybe carry a slice of lemon to squeeze over it?

    Hope that helps.

    Good luck with the diet.

    Keto diet started: 7-April-2011
    4 day split routine: Walk 30 miles a week + 3 x 30min cardio.

Use some curry sauce - Pataks do some that are about 70-80 cals per 100grams. They only have about 6 grams of carbs, or Mr benns do a light sweet n sour sauce with 11 grams of carbs per 100grams and about 60 cals. Add that to your chicken.

Try cooking the chicken with mixed vegetables e.g. stir-fry mix, mixed peppers, chopped onions, chopped mushrooms etc. Veg keeps the chicken moist and it also adds flavour. You can use a splash of seasoning to make stuff smell & taste nicer. You don't want it to smell & taste too nice though, if you're cutting.

get yourself a good hot sauce, or a nice tangy buffalo sauce -  they will spice up your chicken without adding as many calories as a pasta sauce. Taste better too imo

I have low cal salad cream ,a key also is to cook them so there not to dry,so cook with a lided  frying pan ,and with added seasoning you will get a nice soft chicken .

And one more thing start of on high heat and when half cooked lower and simmer for a slow cook.

Shwartz do a Perfect shake seasoning, simply sprinkle over your chickhen while cooking, tastes good and for the amount you would use very little in it!

Why not make your own tandoori marinade, pretty low cals I think.

Nandos sauces have no carbs in them.

Also I have come across some Pesto sauces that have no carbs in them too, which I found very useful when I was cutting.

Make some veg soup and take in a flask. Add the chicken breast diced up - bit like a stew - you can make the soup with veg stock and fibous veg so very low in cals and carbs.

I really like Jalepenos and find that they really add a lot of flavour to a chicken salad.
