To what extent do you agree/disagree with this bodybuilding statement....?

"A human’s size and body composition is not a result of food and nutrient intake, but rather, a result of what is digested and when...".

It's wrong when taken at face value, because it states that a human's size is a RESULT of what is digested and when, which would ignore the thousand other factors involved in a human's size. But then a single sentence taken out of context can often convey something different from what the author was trying to get across with their overall statement

Just a pointless quote someone has put together to make it look like he knows something that someone else doesnt.

Doesn't appear like an oxymoron to me, more like a figure of speech that combines contradictory terms.

    Yep

As Cubed said, it's also wrong in that it's self-contradictory. i.e. the second part of the statement relies upon the first part of the statement to a great extent, but then goes on to deny that this is so. Digestion and when it occurs is greatly influenced by food and nutrient intake and when that occurs. There are many other factors in digestion of course, but to say NOT and RATHER is to deny the importance of the first part of the statement, which is wrong

Also, digestion is not necessarily the same thing as absorption or utilisation of nutrients. Which I think might be what the author was trying to get at. Nil by mouth anyone?

So yeah it's wrong in lots of ways. But it's just one sentence so who knows what the overall message was. Where's it from? Here? This is the only place I could find it on google

    Its bullsh1t.

The purpose of that quote is to make people worry about there protein intake after a workout.

Load of bull designed to sell preteen shakes!

If someone is bigger than you its generally because they are genetically predisposed, or there overall body strength is greater.

In other words they SQUAT more.

There is logic to it, there are plenty of wasting conditions that are caused by lack of digestion/absorption of nutrients.
