Tony's 4 day split

I worked out chest/bis on monday. I am still sore today (wednesday) at my serratus anterior . Today calls for working out delts/tris. I'm not sure what to do? This doesn't seem like a very smart routine since this can happen, or am I missing something?

I know what you stated. You stated that you are following Tonys 4 day split and in neither of his 4 day splits does he recommend training shoulders 2 days after chest.

The routine is laid out smart, you need to follow it the way he intended.

    ExLax,

    The routine is...

    Mon Chest/Biceps
    Tue Quads/Hams/Calves
    Wed Rest
    Thu Shoulders/Triceps
    Fri Back/Traps
    Sat Rest
    Sun Rest

One of the fundamental issues with 4 day routines is recovery time. Having said that, I'd expect you to be suitably recovered in time for the scheduled shoulder/triceps workout.
