Top competitive bodybuilders...

Seem to have really titchy, sparse, minimal entries on Wikipedia.

Have you ever been tempted to modify, edit, elaborate or otherwise amend a big-name BB'er's Wikipedia page?

Can anyone simply edit pages on Wiki then?
Presumably someone verifies the entry before it goes live?

Anyone can edit the vast majority of topics.
You need to register and your ip address will be recorded.

If you're caught uploading crap, you're ip address will be banned.

Some sensitive topics will always be locked as there will always be people with an agenda e.g. 9/11 or The moon landings.

I think they've changed the system slightly in recent years so that trusted moderators are responsible for certain sections.

I remember some genius edited this page:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballincollig
Made a few complete lies such as Dinosaur bones having been discovered in the town.
People were actually talking about the Dinosaur bones in the pubs etc., some people having claimed to have seen them

Yeah anyone can do it mate

I think it's basically moderated in a similar way to forums - which leads to the occasional funny (or libellous) entry on certain pages. It also leads to some incorrect info staying on there long term

I've tried adding or editting stuff and it was always rejected as not making sense even though I used good grammar and punctuation, so I gave up.
