Training around a tricep injury

A while ago I injured my tricep benching. Since then i’ve been fooling myself that I can still bench/squat and it will heal. It’s much better than it was but still not 100%.

I’m thinking I need a couple of weeks off pressing & squatting to let it heal, will front squats & deadlifts put much strain on the tricep? I’m thinking of concentrating on those with some rows etc for a few weeks

Leg press, hack squat machine and pec dec, cable cross overs should see you through, you just need to try stuff, if it still gives you gyp then back off and rest

Same deal. If it hurts don't do it!

I think front squats and deads would be okay though?

Tried front squats and even those aggravate it, looks like it’s just dead’s for couple of weeks. What is odd is I can bench without feeling it until the next day, squats & OHP I feel while doing the movement

I wonder then if it's a tendon/ligament rather than the muscle itself. If you bench on a bad tricep it should be obvious.

Best thing is just to rest the area. That does not mean no training though. Just train around it with things that don't aggravate and you will be back to 100% in no time.
