Training on holiday ?

Oky doky, I'll be away for 8 days starting on the 15th, then Im going away for 5 weeks during Aug\Sept.
I really dont want to loose my gains that I've been making, sure I know I'll loose a bit but if I can somehow keep training whilst travelling that would be brilliant.
Any idea's ?

When Im away for 5 weeks I'll be travelling through Europe so obviously I cant be taking weights with me

MANY thanks for any help.

8 days wont make a lot of difference.

It's a holiday, go away have fun, relax, then get back to it when you get back.

you can do some body weight exercise like pull ups, and handstand shoulder press with feet on the wall.

however, your best bet is to use the internet and look for gyms in the places you visit. Put them on your route map. though may be best to do total body work outs if you can't train like 3 times a week.
so you can at least maintain.

As for getting a protien shake. Should meat be nice and cheap abroad?

Faced a similar problem myself. I'd suggest a chin up bar, as you can carry it about and put it up on any door frame (and it can be used as a rudimentary weapon, should the situation necessitate ).

If you're back packing, there's your squat right there! Just kidding. If you get a couple of 5l water bottles and fill them up with sand you could do DB squats/deadlift. You could also use a similar set up with different weight for lat raises or DB press.

Weighted push ups is an option for the chest.

These are very rough, but might at least hold you over for 5 weeks. Just don't expect to come back bigger than when you left!

k bro i have a similar dilema here is what i is thinking

leg day- box jumps, lunges, sprints (can imagine it will casue any gorwth but i reocgn could stave off looses), and poor man glute ham raises

chest day- im taking a bunch of chains and goign to do ring dipd i.e. what the gymnasts do you know with the rings, so i ahev the chain and some handles and will aim to attach them to somewhere, then goign to do some chain press ups as per defrancotraining.com (i think that is the website)

shoulder- hand stand press ups, got some bands form my pyhsio and will do some side, front and bent over raises- bands very wasily subbed for bungy cord- again just need osmewhere ot attahc them.

back- all i have really is chin ups, unless i can get some more high strnegth bands and i could do some band bent over rows but i think it is kinda pointless. lower back will just do hyper extentions not great but wiill surfice.

triceps- covered IMo with the chest and shoudlers
    abs- leg raises, crunches
biceps- try and come up with something with the 8kg of chains i will be taking and the bands/ bungy and hopefully do some higher rep stuff but not too bothered and the chins will cover most of it.

    hope it helps

will also aim to swim or run daily to satve of the beer/ junk food gut.

Are you traveling alone or with a partner?

If with a parenter. you can do lunges/squats with them on your back.
even do hang clean or overhead press as long as they are not to fat

they can sit on you while you do press ups as well.

get one of those ressistance rubber band things , not brilliant but may help and do press ups with some kind of weight on your back , go out and find a bar of some kind for pull ups with some kind of weight, and do squats/lunges holding your suit case or somthing for weight , but just enjoy yourself really

that kind of thing should remind your body to keep the muscle/strength a bit more

when you get back you will regain very quickly anyway

I have one thing on my side here...
The 5 of us that are travelling ALL train, so we'll all be keen to keep it up.

    I'll take:
    Swiss Ball
    Skipping Rope
    Chin Up Bar

Depending on how much I pack with me, I MAY get a set of Dbells in one country and carry them about

Im just keen to keep a bit of training up of some sorts, so that all the beer\sex\food doesn't get tooo much of the better of me.

Im sooooo looking forwards to this trip.

    Appreciate all the help guys.
