Twinges

Im currently doing some intense interval type cardio, sprinting 200m resting for a miniute and then going again to get me use to running with a build up of lactic acid. The thing is Im also haveing to follow a weight training programe to increase my mass (a little) and explosive power. The problem I have is that for 2 days after a session Im unable to give it 100% on my cardio sessions as after working out my body is acheing and twingeing all over the place.

Is there anything I can buy that will allow my muscles to recover quicker, say one complete day off ? so that Im able to get on with the interval training side of things with out feeling discomfort as this is key to me acheiving my goals

    ok thats a bit vague.

What is gear ? Is actually called this and where can I go to buy some is it some sort of powder i add to some milk/water asnd drink. I hope its not stelroids as I dont want to grow and that sort of takes away something im enjoying doing.

Beleive me my diet is very good I beleive but not that suited for a bb as its more carb bassed with fish turkey and chicken add to this about 7 pieces of fruit a day and you see im eating the right things. Rest is not an issue ither as I reguarly get my 7/8 hrs

Its just well annoying doing weights on monday then going down the track tuesday and haveing to take it easy/finish/giveup due to muscle aches and tinges when im going at 90% effot or trying to. Even on the wednesday I can still feel it and its not good as I need to do this interval 90 effot type running to get me use to lactic endurance.

someone must be abke to send me to a site that sells things i can put into some water and drink that will go along into mu muscles and repair them quicker, im not wanting to cheat I just want to get on as its 12 weeks left now as this twingeing is a pai in the ass

    hi m8

how long have you been doing weight training? IME the aching subsided after the first 3 weeks - the i cant do cardio coz i cant move scenario.

as said above make sure diet is spot on, maybe add a multivitamin, fishoil capsule with glucosamine(sp) - or try using some iBuleve gel to help relieve discomfort.

the other thing my friend .... is time. Give it time - u'll feel better week after week.

    good luck

I think, but check this, that creatine aids recovery.

You did gain far too much fat though,I mean, you're not muscular at all, you're just a fat mess.

cheers for the reply lads .

Its reasureing to hear that the aching dies down a bit, after a few sessions, which is something positive for me take on board as its seriously been doing my nut in just lately as I like to give my training sessions (weights and cardio) some serious effort.

Perhaps though im overdoing it by trying to do 3 interval training sessions and 3 full body work out routines a week. I guess im just one of them people who super keen and loves putting myself through intese stuff.

Theres no way I can drop these cardio sessions as this is primarily my main goal as its a target to be super fit and full of running (sprinting etc) for my trial to get in my local team at the end of August, which although not of premiership quality is still of a decent standard and I want that number 9 shirt badly.

My worry is that if im only doing a fullbody workout twice a week, im not really going to be getting anywhere and developeing any serious explosion of power as well as just gernerally shapeing and toneing up.

Maybee someone that thinks this is a negative view and doing the two sessions a week will actually do something over the course of 12 / 16 weeks, would comment telling me that I am wrong with this beleif, as it just helps with haveing the confidence that it will actually work and do something, you know ?

    cheers

about the creatine, I thought this helped you go harder, at the end of the month ill be purchaseing some for this very reason and if it actually helps in recovery ten thats even better. Im just not sure if its cheating. Dont get me wrong I give it 100 % on each session so Im not going to be able to give it anymore, as giveing it 200 % just sounds ridiculous as well as it being impossible for instance, but if its going to aid in my capabilities im on it.

Supps wise i would look and Beta-alanine and cit Malate for buffering H Ions and Lactic acid.

Diet is still the most important factor with rest, lots of articles on this site and check out the diet section.

Other than that, effective stretching, perhaps even look at self myofascial release, not something i have used or know too much about but something i am looking at right now (see my thread) some people seem to find it reduces DOMS.

Perhaps even regular sports massage, thats the best thing for me but impractical to have weekly due to cost!
