UDO's failed quality test ?

Hi I just read on www.supplementwatchdog.com that UDO's failed an independant qualty test on amount of actual EFA in their oil , I find this both disconcerting and hard to beleive as I swear by this product but I would like to know if anybody can throw any more light on this ? I know there is a guy from Savant on this forum so would be very interested to hear a response from them .. Also does anyone know who is behind the supplement watchdog as they publish some pretty contraversial ( sic ) stuff ..

I've got a really good idea as to which well known U.K supplement company it is.

From what I can make out the site does nothing but twist the truth. A fantastic example is the amazing story about my company Reflex Nutrition Ltd.

Implying that Darren Campbell is somehow involved in taking contiminated supplements from Reflex is saling very close to the wind, especially since he is always drug tested, and the FACT that there is no truth in it!!

If the rest of the articles on the site are much like the one about us I would have to say that in my humble opinion they mean very little.

The story about UDO is very unfortunate. UDO's products are very good indeed, however as we all know oils are unstable and there is no mention of the batch or indeed if the product was stored in the correct conditions.

I'm sure Savant will issue some sort of statement because a lot of people have used this product, including me!

    Regards,

    James Phillips.

Yeah UDO's is a great product and i would like to understand the background to this story so a statement would be very welcome ! So you think there is a supp company behind this site Reflex ? as opposed to independant individuals as it seems to imply ? Interesting as just about every supps company gets a slating .. Having read the degree of slating though I may have the same Idea as you ??

    Hi Guys,

Firstly, Pulsar - you're on the ball!! I only found out about this myself yesterday afternoon after reading a comment in CAM and digging around.

As per your post, this raised concerns immediately, and further to contacting the manufacturer, FMD, I was informed that they are currently performing an analog test (not 100% what this means - anyone?) on the oil that Consumer Lab tested. As soon as they have the results they are going to issue a statement - I'll keep you guys informed.

As an organic product, there is always going to be a degree of variance in the final levels of everything in Udos, but the claimed discrepancy is beyong what can be expected as normal variance. Though as per Reflex's post, there was no information given on storage nor testing procedure, and from what you say there's a possiblity that these sites aren't totally unbiased.

I can say that all of the analysis' that we have had done at this end have always backed up the data given to us by FMD.

    Cheers guys,

    Tony

any information from that website should be taken with a pinch of salt, UDOs have always had a good rep and certainly aint going to read too much into this at the moment.

Will look forward to the results from Tony!
