University dissertation - fitness app

Hello everyone, I wasn't really sure which sub-forum was correct for this so sorry if I'm wrong lol.

Basically, I'm in my third and final year of my Bsc in computing science & business management, and for my dissertation I'm doing a research based software implementation, i.e. fitness app. The research is in wearable technology; how it can enhance a user's lifestyle, future technology etc. So for this dissertation I've decided to create my own android application to work with a number of wearable technology devices, in particularly fitbit atm. Getting all of the functionality to work isn't overly important it's mostly to showcase what this type of application could do and how it can improve a user's lifestyle.

Anyway, to the point of the topic lol, I've created a number of designs to be used for the logo and icon, and I was wondering which design(s) you guys prefer? I'm more inclined to use 3,4 and 7 personally for various different areas of the application but I'm open to feedback, or possible tweaks to these designs.

Thank you in advance!

I would have said number 6, but will the writing be too small?

    Thanks guys.
James, using that design as an icon would definitely be problematic with the text so that would be removed, but as a logo it would be fine.

4 is the best IMO. Simple, sleek, and with the times.

3 if it was more nutrition-based, otherwise I like 6.
