Vegan 2017

Although your life might not have been effected by the rise of veganism, you might find that it will in the future, this is a film about how the vegan movement has effected the world in just this year alone.

For anyone who watches this or for anyone who is just interested in trying a plant based diet, I recommend signing up to Veganuary: www.veganuary.com where over 75,000 people have signed up to try a plant based (vegan) diet for January 2018, which is quadruple the amount of people that signed up in the year of 2016. 66% of people that signed up to veganuary in 2017 have remained on a plant based diet, mainly because of health improvements.

I personally recommend a mainly whole foods plant based diet, and have seen great results in my body composition since adopting a plant based diet. I might post pictures of my results at some point.

Also Huel is vegan friendly and that helped me a lot at the start when trying to figure out what to eat.

I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

Not a bad watch. I do agree with the dairy part, have given that up myself. I don't like the way they use references to processed meats and fast foods in particular, I think we all understand both are no good for you.

I also don't like the use of celebrity's in these kind of articles. Just because David Attenborough has given up meat it doesn't mean I'm going to.

I agree with you that a plant based diet is a lot better for you. I'm on a Keto diet which has seen a drastic drop in my meat consumption and a huge increase in my veggies which is great but that's as far as I'm taking it.

And here is an example of how veganism might not effect your life right now, but it will ruin your night if you date one

It has , its become almost like a religion on MT , lots of Vegan trolls hiding away waiting to poke you with an ethical stick , rather than a plant based diet and rules , I prefer freedom of choice and not having other peoples version of utopia forced down my neck. If i want to seek out a plant based diet i will do , strange how you how so much sympathy and passion for animals , but have the entire opposite views on humans supporting an undemocratic EU , so your not fine with animal cattle , but human cattle is fine.

Why don't vegans start at the bottom, campaigning for better conditions for farm animals and improved slaughter? thats something everyone can get behind and you would establish allies, not alienating people with attempts at proselytising all the time.

I don't it's possible to force someone to be vegan. By making this post it is for people that might be interested in the vegan life style. The title is clear, you don't need to view the thread if it's not for you

Because veganism isn't just about animals suffering/killed for food. Yes better animal welfare would be better for animals but that doesn't solve the environmental issues.

And I'd also argue that what vegan activists are currently doing is working very well already. That's why I posted the video. Because people on this forum do not seem to think things will never change. Well things are changing. Not over night, but faster then you think.

I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

What if someone was been made ill by following veganism. Not everyone is cut out for that diet. What would you suggest

If you get I'll from a plant based diet. I'd suggest doing some research and try to improve your diet. A plant based diet can be unhealthy (if you eat Oreos, crisps and drink coke all day you will probably die after a while). I don't see how anyone would get ill from eating a balanced whole foods plant based diet.

I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

Some people have tried a clean plant based diet. Stuck with it and it wasn't right for them. While some are ok with it or some do well eating a plant based diet. Some peoples biochemistry isn't suits to it and must have some or plenty of organic meat. For those that do indeed feel unwell on the plant based diet with no junk what would you suggest mate

I can't really be bothered to do a load of digging around but from the quick bit of looking I did showed that the article that you linked got it's resources from studies that ran tests on rats. And we are not rats. Also I do not know who funded those studies done one 'rats'.

If they need to eat animals to survive then I suggest they eat animals. But for 99% of people that isn't the case.

Although I imagine that if 0.001% of people can not survive without meat then suddenly 50% of the population will calm they can not survive without it either. A bit like every naughty child has ADHD now and how every over weight person isn't responsible for their own weight, it's some how genetic that they are fat.

Can we stick to the topic instead of discussing the very small 0.1% of people that may need to eat a chicken leg a day to function properly.

Is it 0.1% though. People have varying metabolic typing. Paul Chek has his clients on different ratios of protein carbs and fats. What's optimal for one person is different for someone else.

So you're not all that bothered about animal cruelty and welfare? In that case then, would you be happy if there was a huge shift towards hunting for meat and small scale free range farming? Surely that would go a long way towards improving the environmental issues you speak of?
