Video Editing

I have around 150 photo's and 15 video clips taken of my holiday in Caribbean.

I want to edit them into a reasonably professional looking video.

I have tried windows movie maker on Vista

it was very basic but could probably do the job however - after an hour or two of editing - i need to save the file and give it a break.

but once the file is saved - once i re-open it - i can edit it still but i cant ever view it as a preview to see how it looks 0 which renders it useless

anyway...

what programs are there out there for creating videos from photos and clips?

thanks

Bit of a coincidence you mentioning this, as I'm doing exactly the same thing.

I'm using Adobe Premiere CS2 to put my photo's and video clips down.
I'm synching it up to a song that I've got running on the main audio channel.
For an extra effect or two, I'm doing a few composites on After Effects 7 before adding them to the timeline.

There are trial versions of both programs I'm sure and it goes without saying that there are other ways of getting the programs (Muscle Talk does not endorse the promotion of warez!!!111)

    No problem dude.
It's not as daunting as it may look.

Stick your pictures and vids on the timeline.
Set the length for the pictures by dragging the frame bracket along.

    Save and export.

    Adding music is easy.
Just drop a music track onto the audio timeline which will be the first bar under the timeline you fill with pictures and videos.
To sync the clips to the music, simply alter the length of each clip and you're done.

You can preview the final video before you export it.
