Marunde sucked in the squat, i know he is tall but 240kg for wsm is nothing.
thought marius would get all viking presses up. still i know he will save for the final.

Yep, not up to the standard at all, hence the withdrawal after coming last in the first two events. I don't think this was his year - maybe next year!

Pudge VERY nearly got the last Atlas stone, ouch that was painfully close!

Yes that was agony! He got it right on the edge twice, poor bloke. Commentator said well he is only 6 foot - short for a strongman, i'm not sure height should be allowed to be a disadvantage in strongman, how on earth would andrew raynes have got any stones up? He'd need a ladder!

Loved the barrel lift! Good competetive feeling there, and savikas extra rep was just adding insult to injury

    Savikas looked impressive!

I like the fact that he's excellent at farmers walk, despite having very small hands for a strongman. Looks like he's taken his weakest point, and made it his strongest.

Ellwood just didn't look like he wanted it, on the rare occasion they showed him that is.

Agreed. How many times will he 'get injured'? C'mon. You Big Al and several others here will know how tough it is. Either he should put up or get off the box.

Yes i always like the squat or deadlift best, and this time they actually showed a few lifts from the side, very good for studying form with the slo mo button.
It also makes me grin to think that their starting rep is in excess of my 1rm![xx(]

WSM is just not on long enough.
I hate it when they cut people attempts out.
I don't know anyone that doesn't like watching, surly the ratings would show it would hold an audience for an hour.

you tear your bicep and then trying doing a ni-on 1000lbs tyre flip [8)]

Also his squat was on par with BSM one. So i cant see how you could justify your comment.

How many times have we seen him compete and get injured? Now he's either injured all the time, in which case sod strongman and or competing and get well or he's ''injured'' when the competition gets tough.

See Mobster's reply, which i agree with, for justification.

Imo ellwood lacks conviction, he is still a bodybuilder, not a strongman at heart.

'Out weighs' - and not at WSM level. I don't keep track of local comps but do get some news via David Webster which I use in my magazine Muscle Mob of some of Eddies overseas efforts (in Italy for example).

I also compete in the British Iron Grip competitions (2nd this year in the open) and have a few world and British records of my own. Now I don't know Eddie - nor (unless you do) does anyone else on the Power & Strength Forum and I don't want to knock back a fan but will say what I have seen - he has had some very good chances to win the BSM, came out all guns blazing with 300+ pounds of beef only to be knocked back by plodders. In the first WSM heat he did exactly the same and low, his arm was hurt. Now it's either an injury that needs sorting (so go and get better) or he's playing a game - don't need to be an 'armchair'athlete any more than does a footy fan but I'm not so that's ok :)
