Weight gain: shakes

Hey, there I'll keep short.

I'm very skinny and have taken on the gym. My current goal is to take in roughly 300kcal daily (and 50g of protein) so I really need to supplement my meals with a few homemade shakes throughout the day, mainly because my job does not allow me to have 5-6 meals a day.

Could anyone recommend me any shake recipes I could quickly mix up at work? (eggs are very much too much of a hassle) What kind of whey would you recommend?

Whey concentrate
Peanut butter
Bananas
Whole milk
Ice cream (depending on how many calories you want in and if work has a freezer)

Blitz and drink

One I use is:

Ultra fine oats (2 scoops, myprotein)
Whey protein (2 scoops, myprotein)
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon of walnut oil
Then about 500-600ml water
Blend it up and whack it in a shaker.

Lots of calories and mostly healthy stuff, you can change the water for milk if you want for extra calories. Cheap aswell!

as a cost reduction on the one from Bezza - oats are cheap as chips from asda, even in 1kg bags. they're usually cheape than MP & BP, even when they have sales on (all the time)

Some good shouts here, with Faip dropping gold as always.

I always like to use a protein blend, but in real world sense it doesn't matter.

One of my classic shakes was this....

1. 75g of chocolate casien from Bodybuilding Warehouse.
2. 100g peanut butter.
3. A good few g's of sea salt.

Blitz and drink... It is liquid reeces peanut butter cups! You can also add gold top milk if you really want to ramp up the calories.

See what works best for you - timing is largely irrelevant though. 90-120 mins pre-workout should give you a decent bump in calories, likewise it can replace a meal post workout or at any other time of the day.

Calories are what help build muscle, so yes
