Weird Feeling

I'm sorta proud of myself. Pretty chuffed if am honest.

I let myself go, lost my confidence and got into my worst shape in years.

Switched gym to one run by a few serious boxers rather than the commercial posey one I was in, got over my fear of training with the big lads and got stuck in. So far, dropped 8 kilos, upped my bench by 20 kilos and pulled a 150kg box deadlift last week, so feeling very positive.

Weird for me given my chronic self confidence issues. Genuinely excited about where I go from here,

You go where you set your goals. Only to be hindered by the limits you allow yourself to believe.

The mind never ceases to amaze me. I've been stuck in a rut a few times and something seems to happen, a chance meeting with someone or I just wake up one morning ready to solve that problem or get into again. Suddenly you are in action again.

A Fear of something is a fear of the scenarios, beliefs and perceptions that you yourself have created. Once you realise they aren't true the anxiety often subsides and you become that little bit stronger. Well done fella!

Big fella in the gym commented on how my bench was coming along. I suppose it's a positive sign of getting noticed.

Thanks. Still a long way to go but as long as i'm going the right way. Wouldn't say what I was lifting was overly massive but is more than was going up last month so that's all that really matters.

Knocked 45 secs off my mile time this week and what was my 1rm bench two weeks ago am now repping for 5. I've wasted a lot of potential over the years I think.

I train at home and obviously have limited equipment (bench, bar, dumbells, squat rack) so my workouts are restricted and I haven't got the range of things on offer to hit the different areas of the muscle. It is disheartening at times and wish I still could go to a 'beast gym' bit finances aren't great so I can't afford an expensive gym membership.

Still I manage to smash workouts out!

    Good for you though! 😄

My gym membership is £15 a month. I smash workouts now because I have motivation to. I haven't always had that or the belief that I could. Sure i'd love to have a home gym setup but for right now i'm happy doing what i'm doing and getting more serious about it every week.

Westbellfast - Yeah I was only joking mate. Keep up the hard work anyway.

James - Don't be a numpty. All you need is a barbell and some plates. With a bench and a squat rack you're spoilt for choice.
