i have a mate whose a big lad and he went down for a ridiculous offence - telling the police he was somone else got six months for perverting the course of justice or something. He`s a handy lad and well built well respected round our way. He said it was scariest time of his life being round unpredictable people, who could stab you and think nothing of it etc. Took 3 months of his life away. And he has never done anything wrong since so it must of had an effect on him. Anyone who says its easy must be lying or must be bravado cos taking 3 months or whatever out of my life would be the hardest thing i`ve had to deal with so far in my life.

I think for people who have nothing to lose it will be easier to go through prison.

    are u paying a visit??LOL
Fcuked if i would want to be in there but i dont think its a deterant for persistant offenders.
I know a few lads that have done time, most say its a giggle and easy but then they werent murderers only theft usually through drugs etc.
It doesnt seem to make them any wiser TBH.

I just think i would not enjoy being told what to do all the time...when to sleep eat etc,not for me!
A good friend got put away for assault and had to share a cell with a smackhead...he said it was very difficult not to kill him as all he kept on about was how great smack was!

Depending on your offence depends on whether or not your time inside will be nice or not. I have a friend who went down for stealing money off a company. £22k in total and he got a playstation, key to his cell, free run of the level he was on. Loved it. I have an ex friend who went down for a road traffic death which he purposed caused. Now I've heard (don't know as i don't talk to him no more) that it's hell. He is forever being beaten and everybody is against everybody.

I have 3 friends who have been to prison, 1 for fraud, 1 for possessing firearms and kidnap, and the other for drug dealing. The one who did the drug dealing spent the longest time inside, 5 years. Although he said it wasnt that bad, he doesnt like talking about it, mainly because it took 5 years of his life away, and it stopped him from seeing his kids. From what he has told me though, it is not like what you see on tv at all, and your only really in any real trouble if you've murdered someone because then your in with a more dangerous band of inmates. He also said that there was loads of people he knew in there and if there was ever any trouble it would usually be due to the area that you are from although he did say that the mancs and scousers would always stick together.

My other friend spent 6 months inside and said it was just like being at home, because nearly everyone in there was from the area that he lived in.

My other friend spent a month inside and said the first night he went in he had never been so scared in his life, until a few days later when he realised that it wasnt that bad.

I've never been to prison as I'm a good boy.

My brother was in a Cat B for a year. He said it was crap.

Very scary when he first went in, couldn't sleep for nerves etc. After he got used to it, it was more boring than anything as they were locked up most of the time. Did have a TV in his cell, and managed to get himself a stereo later on.

He got in a few fights (bound to happen considering his nature tbh). A lot of verbal agression and violence in there from what he said. Said some of the guys in there were complete and utter twats, others were good guys. He did make some mates in there. He also said some of the "screws" were nasty tossers and would try to victimise inmates who they took a dislike to.

The gym was very good, he got to use it for a few hours each week.

He also lost his g/f etc as she dumped him after about 9 months of him being inside. So it's not just what happens in there I guess, also what you miss from normal life.

Anyway that's just from stuff he's told me.

Oh also I should mention that he came out a lot more agressive seeming than when he went in. The way he talked etc. And my brother has never in his life been a quiet timid guy lol. So god knows what they general attitude of people inside is tbh. I don't think I'd like it much!

A neighbour of mine has just been sent down for 15 mth (3 weeks ago) to an open prison and he's been told he can be out between certain hours if he gets a job (but he can't have a paid one cos they say he's too much money), he will soon get some home leave and will be home in October. What sort of punishment is that? It was company fraud.

Im a prisoner escort and sit in court with prisoners every day, i'd say the vast majority get on with it ok and have a laugh... TVs, Playstations, radios, gym etc. Obviously they don't want to be there but i haven't come across many who genuinly have a hard time inside and can't handle prison life... apart from the nonces...

Granted their not close friends but i have a chat and a laugh with most of them and 99% will tell you anything you ask them about prison life. The only ones who keep things close to there chest and don't like talking about things are the vulnerable prisoners. We hold upto 30 prisoners a day in our cells and even though some have never met they get on most of the time and have a jolly and look forward to getting back to prison (we dont have tvs/playstations/radios etc in our cells... just a hard bench lol)

    Hm I see.

TBH of the people I know who've been to prison, none of them want to go back. And some of these guys lead crap lives on the outside tbh! But it's still better than prison...

Its an interesting trial, it's the murder of celebrity minder and bodybuilder David King who was gunned down outside the gym in Hoddesdon, Herts. The murder weapon was an AK47, the first time an AK47 has been used in gang crime in this country i believe. Quite complicated circumstances but the long and short of it is that it was a contract killing.

We had a automatic weapon incident the other side of Ilford in Manorpark a good while ago now...resulted in two fatalities, i beleive the guy was tracked and caught in india....however dunno wat make and model it was lol....youd be surprised how much gun/auto weapon crime goes on in london and dont get reported...especially in the "lost" boroughs
