What protein bar?

Hi Guys, newbie here

I am really new to this and was looking for advice on the best protein bars/powder to get and where to get them at the best price. Ideally I would prefer a high protein low carb bar but the places I have looked at work out at about £2 per bar delivered, is this about right?

Thanks!

    Yeah thats the average price.

    Have look at:

    Reflex - Pit Stop bars

    CNP - Pro XS bars.

If you get either of them, let me know how they taste please.

    Hello there... welcome to MT

You can have a look around at different suppliers here:

The cheapest whey would turn out to be unflavoured and in bulk in most cases.. but there are specials offered here and there by the supp companies.

The ones often mentioned are www.myprotein.co.uk, www.bulkpowders.co.uk, and all-in-one: http://www.sports-nutrition.net/acatalog/whey-protein-products.html..
Look at a bigger list here though and browse around: http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/supplements.asp

As for the bars.. you can look into the Recipe section on here and look at a few different recipes to make your own bars.. turns out cheaper than buying them individually.. If not then others will recommend you on the 'best' ones on the market atm according to what you want from them.

I would have to say (and i have tried a lot of them out there) that Labrada Lean Body Gold Peanut are the best by far. Don't taste like a protein bar, more like a snickers.

But - do try Bigfella's recipe for his home made bars, seriously they are awesome....gutted i am on a cut now. I can't trust myself to have a batch in the house and not plough through them.

Can't comment on yours wiffers....once this cut is over I will give them a go mate; you seem to be getting a lot of good feed back on them.

try either chemical nutritions 'pro-flapjack bars' at 18.8g protein each. Or myproteins rasberry protein flapjacks at 22g each. When buying a single box, the pro-flapjack work out at 80p each. And the myprotein ones are a little more expensive (1 pound 10ish)
