What state did Xmas leave you in?

There was a few threads about training and diet over Xmas, I just wondered what the aftermath was for those who let it all go?  And how you plan to resolve it.

I actually trained 4 times a week over the 2 Xmas weeks but because diet went to pot (didn't binge or anything, just poor food and not enough protein), I looked a mess by the end of it.

A week back on track and although I've lost the 6lbs I gained during those 2 weeks already, I don't look how I did before Xmas.  Lost muscle, gained fat.  I'm sure there's an element of the good old body dismorphia going on here too, but it's frightening what 2 weeks off course..... despite actually training still..... can do to a physique.

I was lean bulking before and managing to add some muscle with little fat.  I've scaled calories back a bit this week and will do for a couple of weeks til I look a bit more like my old self!  Then back on the lean bulk.

Put on a bit tbh. Payback time now. 90g of carbs yesterday. Will try to do the same today. I'd almost forgotten that "waking up in the middle of the night hungry" feeling.

No change here.  If anything I'm a bit leaner due to over compensating for xmas...

Wasn't intending on taking any time off over xmas, but picked up a chest infection which wrecked my asthma, then did a slow run and injured my damn foot!  So missed christmas day parkrun too!  Still off running but planning on getting back next week (currently lifting and cycling).

Ate more on xmas day only (actually ate a whole 9 month matured xmas pudding to myself).  Then went to Alps day after boxing day for skiing, which always makes me leaner (9 to 5 cardio every day).

I was on about 3000 calories a day before Xmas so I thought a bit of indulgence wouldn't really make much difference, but unfortunately it did.

Softer and weaker, one chest session on Monday then started getting flu symptoms.  One big downer really.

Weighed just a few lbs more than pre-holiday but that's mostly down to drink, I only hit the booze around Christmas time so that will sort itself out.

On the plus side, I'm really looking forward to seeing my strength shoot back up when I get into a routine!

I've done nothing in terms of exercise except walking the dog and ****ing.

Not even back to the gym this week as I've got a cold :-(

Will be kicking off properly on Monday though! I'm doing a body transformation challenge at my gym so it will be good to look as ****e as possible for the 'before' pics!

i was ill from boxing day and just feeling a bit better now, looking really soft and gained some fat than i would have liked. I was meant to be lean bulking which was going well up until about the 20th but after that I didnt work out or do cardio so the fat wasnt being kept in check

how do you feel that you have lost muscle mate? Maybe im wrong but i wouldnt think ud loose any muscle having 2 weeks off?

Considering I kept training up I wouldn't have thought I'd lose muscle either but I'm now at the same weight as before Xmas...... in fact I hit that weight on Wednesday morning so been that weight all week...... and I look worse.  Fatter, abs aren't there (could see them before Xmas) and I'm not filling my Tshirts out the same as I was.

I suppose 200g of protein a day VS hardly any over Xmas can't have help the situation.

I'm currently loading on creatine so hopefully that will help to give me some decent pumps when I train to boost my ego and confidence a little!

The same. Did train less over the xmass week due to gym opening times and being away. Had 6 days off and was out of groove first sess back week after. Other than that no issues.

i get the fatter mate bit, i was looking in the mirror start of the week and looked soft. been fairly back to diet this week even though still ill, protein content been higher and starting to look a bit better. i might be wrong again but the consistency of training 4 times a week would probably aid with the filling out of the t-shirts.

give it a few weeks and i reckon you'll be back in good shape.

Yeah I've got no issues correcting the damage, but it's just frightening how much hard work you can undo in 2 weeks.

Flab-wise about the same as the 15th, because with booze, I tend to undereat afterwards.  Cardio went almost back to square 1 as I hadn't done any dancing, grrrrr...

However firmly back on track. :)

As an addition, during the week in the Alps I did no lifting (skiing is all quad work).  After this week lifting, I'm sore as hell, especially glutes and hamstrings.  Quads are the only muscle which feels ok.  Had to skip stiff legged deadlifts this morning as I can just about sit down at the moment!

That's the only thing I did right...... at least because I kept training up (albeit poor sessions), I could hit it hard again this week without any crippling DOMs.

Ate and drank far too much and I suffered greatly with a huge fat gut as punishment.
But I kept training as well, missing only three days out of the 11 I had off work and put in some good workouts, so psychologically my mind was at rest.
My new programme is going well and I have started on a new protein shake a couple of days ago to give me a boost.
Odd thing is it's making me feel bloated so I think it's just a matter of adjusting the times I take it.
More cardio will be added to my routine too.

    22! Top job.

I was great until a few days pre NYE.

Put on a few pounds that didn't look bad on me around Christmas, enjoyed myself too - dead proud - go me

And then then came long pre NYE fcuking about.

Destroyed myself - nothing too crazy 8 or so lbs but it didn't go on to clever.

Looking at the title of this thread I sillylee thought it was financially based in which it made no difference to mean as I am a right bore, infact I am better off.

Has been hit or miss since Christmas. Have a nagging SI joint so have used that as an excuse to slack a little. I have lost 5lbs while doing this. Not the direction I want to go in. I will be hitting it back at a regular pace in a week or so. The SI joint pain is almost gone so no more excuses.
