What was your first ever job?

What was your first ever job? What year was it and how much did you get paid?

My first job was working in focus diy shop warehouse in 1999 and I was paid £2.74 per hour aged 16.

Shoe polish/candle factory which also did odd things like odour eaters, oven cleaner, mothballs and stuff.
Was through an agency. Can't remember how much I got paid but it was probably less than £3 per hour.

Croupier, 2000. Salary was £8k and found out on first day that you couldn't accept tips! Crappy hours, monotonous work, back and leg pain from standing/bending over tables and a lot of dickheads in the job so I stuck it for 3 months.

Web developer - still doing it now, as well as running my own site. Was due to luck and a bit of hard work.

Paper round - 10 pound a week, 30 minutes a day. I remember timing myself to see how fast I could do it and go up the hills really fast to burn my legs! Great training!

Collecting glasses in a working mens club.

£5 a shift, so about £1 per hr.

    Cheap beer as well.

    I was 15.

Door to door promotions for energy supplier at 18... pay was commission only and I sold very little, so when I left I think my average hourly rate was about 20p.

I probably did 2 weeks of ten hour days and made about 40 quid.

Next job was the following summer working as a KP in a themepark cafe kitchen. I think I was paid minimum wage, but actually took home less than that because the owner used to pay summer workers a maximum of 75 pounds a week to avoid paying national insurance. She would then continue to pay the unpaid salary after we left.
