Whats a good Greens Powder

based on content not taste.

I'm interested in things like phytonutrients and fibre more than vitamins (which according to latest scientific data absolutely do not need to be supplemented beyond requirement) and I'm also not particularly interested in antioxidants which haven't shown any of the benefits they were touted as having a decade or two ago (funny how the marketing people don't keep up to date with research)

Wheat grass powder, Barley grass powder, Chlorella powder,Spirulina powder,or a combination of these will give you all of the vitamins, minerals, ans phytonutrients that you will need.

I would look at the ingredients and breakdowns and go from there... You want to see what is in it and how much. So a product that doesn't have a prop blend is a good start.

Loads of different green drinks out there now though, so shop around and find one on sale that has a good content and not loaded with apple fibre as the bulk filler.

Not to be a douche, but being someone who searches for and reads studies daily, what are you basing this on? Link to scientific data?
Anti oxidants do exactly what they say on the tin, so not familiar with the "promise" you're referring to.

    Posts above are good.
Or were you looking for a recommendation of a specific brand?

Depends on the tin... I'm not going to put words in anyone's mouth, but read a few of the claimed benefits of anti-oxidants from the people selling them.

One source I found fairly quickly which addresses some of the claimed benefits and how the data does not tally.  If you need more I can get some.

That article to me just states that beta caratene is over hyped, but I take your point. Never really seen anything claiming prevention of heart disease or cancer. But on that note, most studies related to that have poor results as the studies neglect the actual causes, like poor diet and lifestyle, but i digress.

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11708399

This is why i take them, but also due to the environment we live in now, too.

Also, I'm not convinced by the quality of fruit and veg i get now, and a few studies have shown that nutritional content of said fruit and veg has fallen drastically, ie vitamin and mineral content, which makes sense.

Some that are touted as anti oxidants also have other benefits.

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10548318

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24381967

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10701711

    And things such as

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20421656

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7649494

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8958163

But yeah, some supplement companies are scandalous.
