Whats this?..another 5x5 question??

Just started franky's 5x5 programme- in second week- and really enjoy it, like the exercises and everything, but have been getting five sets of five out every session, this last week i have upped the weight but stil got 5x5 out. What should i be looking to achieve? should a be using a weight where i can get a couple of sets of five out and then maybe a 3 and a 2? then work on that weight til i can get 5x5? Really dont wana have to be finding the right weight on week ten!!
Also, one last thing, after week twelve, have a weeek off, then start again, same programm but maybe change a couple exercises? Dips for inc press for example? any light on this would be great... as i feel like im down a very dark whole!!!

Yeah, try and get 5 sets of 5 each week, if you do, add weight. If you get less, say 3 and 2 for last sets, stay at that weight until you get all the reps. Sure, the way you plan on doing it is fine, changing the exercises might give it a bit more variety, just make sure when you back you start with more weight than you were previously using.

keep at it mate, you are doing it right. Make sure that you will get those 5 sets of 5 reps every time even if it kills you. Don't up the weight too much in one go, if you up your weight just 2,5kg/week in your main lifts and keep getting that 5x5 your max lifts have gone up quite a bit in 12 week period, remember that and keep you focus on the big picture.

Upping your weight too quickly can stop your progress and flow and you actually might need to take steps back to get back on it again.

I doubt it, although I am quicker when I'm sober! I think we've covered the answer between us though.

One of the keys when beginning 5x5 is not to start too heavy. Pick a starting weight for each exercise where you can relatively easily get 5 sets of 5 reps. By "relatively easily" I mean that on the 5th set you could have got maybe 7 or 8 reps if you really, really pushed yourself. Now, begin adding 5 pounds per week where you can.

It's much better to start off a little light than too heavy. If you are only getting 3 and 2 reps on the last two sets, your starting weights are way too heavy.
