When to Take Protein Shake

Hi,

I recently bought a tub of protein powder and on the instructions it says "mix two scoops of powder with one pint of water then drink within 10 minutes".    Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the supplement but I think it was 90+ or something similar.

I go to the gym at 6:30 in the morning before work, I plan on making up a protein shake the night before, keeping it in the fridge, then having it after my workout in the morning.     Do you think this will make a difference to the affectiveness of the shake?

Will it still be as useful and productive if I make it the night before then take it after my workout?  I don't really have any alternative if I want to take one post workout.

Any advice is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Why not just take the dry powder in the shaker to the gym and add the water when ready?

But no, I do not think it will make much difference.

As above- leave the powder in the shaker and use the gym's fountain (nice and cold) to mix it afterwards?  Much less hassle and no worry about leaking.
