When to eat etc. when training in the morning?

I'm just working out a plan at the moment, and although i've got some great diet advice from reading this forum, the timing of my workout is throwing me a bit. Not sure what the best approach is here.

Basically, I will be training for about an hour somewhere between 8am and 9:30am. For breakfast, my plan is for a protein shake, oats, and a bit of fruit. Sometimes toast or eggs now and again to mix it up a bit, and some EFA. But obviously i don't want to be eating all that BEFORE i hit the gym, otherwise I will be spraying it all over the pretty lady in front of me on the treadmill!

So should I train on a totally empty stomach? Then have my food post workout? But then I was looking to take a product like MyProtein's Hurricane, so should I take that in place of the protein shake after my workout? Or maybe should I have a small protein shake in water as soon as i wake up?

But then what about mid-morning snack? I had planned for that around 10:30-11, but that's only going to be an hour or so after my breakfast. Should I basically push everything back, and just focus on eating something every few hours or so?

Oh, and my goal is to bulk up a bit. Not massively so though, but enough to then cut up a bit to give me some definition and shape.

Are you weight training or doing cardio at this time? Eat if you're weight training, have the oats with some protein in a shake and also eat after.

Doing high-intensity exercise (e.g. weights) on an empty stomach is asking for trouble. You may keel over with hypoglycaemia or worse.

It will be weights mostly. So basically i should eat asap when i wake. I guess if it'll be 45 mins or so before I actually get into the gym that should give my stomach some time to digest a bit.

So what should I eat after? If I'm taking the MyProtein Hurricane, would that be good to have straight after my workout?

Have oats and whey in a shake when you wake up. A strong black coffee if needs be, although not if on creatine, and train and hour later. Have your PWO shake as normal, then back home and your PPWO meal. Eat the rest of the day as per normal.

    Thats exactly what I do.

I've just started to skip the coffee because of the creatine, and how bloated all the liquid was making me and I don't feel much different. It did help with the 30 mile drive to the gym, but I don't think it was really affecting training.
