When to take supplements??!!

How do.

I am just wondering when I should take creatine and protein shakes. Currently and previously a few years ago when I was a regular gym goer which I am getting back into now I used to have a shake before a workout (with 2.5g of creatine) & the same once home with my evening meal (always go to the gym between 6-8pm). But I do not take any of these on days when I do not go to the gym is this right or should I take them even on rest days?

Also how much Creatine should I take per day? Mine are in 700mg caps.

Thanks

Most important is the shake after your workout. Maybe have one before bed. I personally only have complex carbs before exercise.

Is your creatine normal monohydrate? Should have correct instructions on the bottle.
