You mean to say is it a good idea to eat nothing by 3 whey shakes a day? Nobody in their right mind would do this, and certainly nobody on this forum! Food is a far superior source of nutrients than any supplement.

However sometimes if I miss a meal I will mix up two scoops of whey, 100g oats and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter for fat, cheap and cheerful meal replacement. Only thing lacking is some veg. Is this the kind of thing you mean? Or do you mean eating nothing but whey all day?

You want to consume 3 protein shakes per day only? Nothing else? Longer than a few days and you can kiss goodbye to a lot of your muscle mass. Especially so if training ironically.

I honestly don't get it. If money is a factor, why are you going for whey? Food can be a lot cheaper than supplements. Also as said above, within a few weeks you will lose substantial muscle mass.

    I'm bemused by this.

twenty quid worth of food wont last me 4-5 weeks, theres the problem. I can eat like a king for a week, then starve for three weeks....that isnt an option!

I have two 1kg tubs from my oh.

Seems to make sense rather than starving. Dont want to stop training just because I am skint atm!

Hmm. Well if you genuinely can't afford to buy food then it doesn't look like you have much choice. But then again, if you can't afford to buy food then you must be in serious trouble in general. I presume you're out of work, can you not go on the dole?

You litterally have zero money for food? Where is your income coming from and where is it going? I find it hard to beleive you have no money what so ever to eat. You're using the internet for a start.

Eggs, beans, milk, bread can't you buy those atleast.

You can get 15 large eggs for £1.50 thats 10p per egg. 8.5g protein per egg and good fat also. Iceland

    1kg oats = 58p
    1kg rice = 73p

Surely you can afford to buy those? How many carbs do you need?

Frozen veg and as above eggs are quite cheap too.

I don't get it anyway, are you looking for someone to tell you you'll be ok on 3 protein shakes per day only for 5 weeks? You won;t. You will loose shed loads of muscle and be on the brink of starvation. You will feel/look very ill, become ill and suffer quite a bit imo.

If you want to use protein powder as a protein source and then add additional fats/carbs then that's a lot more reasonable, is this what you mean? You can get a way with that, not ideal by any means, but short term should be ok.

If you already have the protein then 20 quid per week will easily see you through the week. How much do you weigh and BF%? How much do you eat normally?

You are runner up for the 'bad idea of the week' award.
(The winner is that 19 year old contemplating gear).

    Terrible idea- don't do it.
You can buy food cheaper than whey- failing that, go to a soup kitchen.
You'd be better off eating a loaf of bread a day than just eating 3 serves of whey.
