Which whey?

(Apologies if this has been asked and answered many times...)

Which whey powder do you recommend? (And why?)

I'm not too fussed about taste -- what's more important to me is the quaility and quantity of protein per serving, and of course the price!

Cheapest, purest, and a 80% content of protein would have to be MyProtein.co.uk's Whey Concentrate 80.

    No doubt about it.

    I hate the taste though.

if you want an unflavoured-which is a lot cheaper i'd go for Myprotein WPC 80 (Euro). You get 4.5kg (10lb) of 80% whey for 29 quid. If you want a flavoured 'off the shelf' one then i'd recommend reflex instant whey

If you are going for value for money I would say myprotein's 80% whey concentrate, I use it all the time and it is great.

I use USN or Extreme protein blend because i like to have a blend of protein sources rather than just whey, if im having it in place of a meal.

I use USN because it tastes so luuuuuuvly!

I use Extreme because it has unusual protein sources in it (wheat protein as well as whey etc ) which adds variety to my rather limited protein sources

What do you guys drink post workout? I'm getting really frustrated now because I'm trying to concoct a slightly decent tasting protein shake for drinking after I workout with only the addition of water, its fine at home I use skimmed milk and with unflavoured whey it tastes fine! Are any of the flavoured protein shakes any good to mix in a shaker with water?? I've tried putting a scoop of lemon flavoured energy drink stuff but it tastes gak!

    Cheers, SC

P.S. I hope this is ok to post in this discussion? I'm not trying to steal the thread I just thought it matched in with the question!

Why is this? It's just the fact that I'm yet to come across a powder that mixes well in a shaker and tastes acceptable.

Do you mean the MRP, or the Whey? And what flavour should I avoid?

    That's exactly what I use

Mix with chocolate nesquik - tastes nice then, actually enjoyable!

two scoops of whey with two or three scoops of maltodextrin makes the tase much better. I think it does anyway. Unfortunately ive never known a shake that tastes really good with water.
