Whiskey question - curious!

Hi guys,

I don't compete, and don't necessarily plan on doing so (soon at least!). Just a competition prep question that I found really interesting. Has anyone heard of people taking a shot of whiskey right before the show I believe for increased vascularity?

Thanks!

I've seen pics of Franco Columbo drinking red wine off stage for this purpose , also I think I read somewhere that dark chocolate can be used

Done that....tried wine night before, brandy, rum before show. Sipped dry wine instead of water throughout comp, glycerol etc to get vascular. Imo its all voodoo nonsense, works well for nerves though. Ultimatly the way i see it these days is, keep it simple and nothing can go wrong. For the sake of a little more vascularity, the potential risks ie smoothing over etc far outweigh the benefits. If the competitor is truely ripped and has timed his approach well. All the choc, wine, etc in the world wont make any greater difference.
Stick to doing homework, day of show just stay empty and dehydrated and make sure you are ready a couple of days prior. Night before start dehydrating. Show day just dry and boring is deffinatly most effective approach im affraid to say. As day goes on the condition just gets better and better.

heard of it but never used it - heh cant avoid the ads actually - let us know what you think - I have an idea that with Niacin it will be a good un! it works on paper

Niacin is an oldie but a goodie - just make sure you take it early enough and get it working in time!

A lot of the guys I know use Brandy but it makes me hot and I sweat enough on stage as it is. I use dry white wine (Muskadet) and chocolate.

i used white wine and glycerol the night before drying out and first thing in the morning. used chocolate and niacin before going on. with niacin you have to hit it just right so try it couple of days prior to see how long it takes. it takes half hour for me but the show got delayed so i was waiting for a hour with a throbbing head lol. it's just one of those things as vas1 looks the **** when it comes to conditioning and it might be becuase he doesn't use it but for other people it might work really well so it's just trial and error unfortunatly
