White Cliffs 2004! Now with Full Events list!

All set!
Subject to there being enough interest from women competitors I will be running a Women's class as well!

As last year all proceeds from the competition will go to charity.

Saturday July 10th.

White Cliffs Strongman Challenge 2004 / White Cliffs Strongest Woman 2004

Events:
1.Farmers walk for distance 60kg women - 100kg men

2.Log Lift for reps. 50kg women, 90kg men – 75 second time limit.

3.Deadlift for reps. 130kg women, 200kg men

4.Crucifix Hold

5.Women – Medley
Men – Either Medley or Car Walk. (Need to test Car Walk before final decision made)

For further information and an entry form email: Siggyllama@btopenworld.com

Last year, Cougarman, Big Al, and Hypershreik all did the forum proud in this event - I'm hoping to see another STRONG Muscletalk turnout in 2004!

    Steel Girl,

Come along and have a go, last year's contest was great fun and it is all to raise money a very good cause!

Everyone at these contests is supportive and I'm sure you will have a great time.

Is that the Novice Class? If it is, farmers walk is a little too heavy isnt it.

Yes it is a novice class. 100kg for distance is fine. It was 90kg for 50 metres last year and virtually everyone completed the course. I would expect most competitiors will have few problems getting 25 metres with 100kg, the best novices will probably get about 60 metres I recon. I'm a novice (I've done 1 show) and I regularly train with 110kg a hand for 50 metres.

I used to train with 100kg a hnad it is not too bad, i like the idea of heavier weights tbh.

For the farmers walk, how thick is the handle? Is it similiar to the thick olympic bar or the thin one? Cheers.

I thought all oly bars were an inch and a 16th or there abouts... Oh well, the farmers walk weights usually have a pretty thick handle, feels a fair bit thicker than the oly bar to me.

Thanks for the encouragement Al and Si - I have no faith in myself thats my problem. If I have time to think about it and my training is on track then maybe I will have a crack at it
