Who heres trains neck muscles - and why?

I know a lot of reasons not to do them, however I sometimes think the look of a thick neck might be better, especially if you're wearing a vest or shirt, or are a natural pencil-neck.

Also, if I scrunch a pillow up by turning my chin into it, I can feel my front neck muscles (the tubular ones between the jaw and sternum) getting that nice 'first-time working out' feeling, apart from any muscle strengthening being healthy, doesn't it also help against double-chins later in life??

Yes, I do a few neck exercises.

- Neck extensions lying on my bed with my head off the end, holding a 10kg plate on my forehead.
- Neck bridges whilst holding a 10kg plate on my chest.

Why? Because it makes my neck and jaw muscles bigger!

Always train neck, really unsure why you know loads of reason why its better not too?

Main reason for me,
Wrestling, a Tough neck helps protect everything inside, also helps taking shots.

No. I don't really see how training your neck is useful for either bodybuilding or strength sports.

I have never trained my neck, but it's got much thicker though compound exercises anyway... I don't train my traps directly either and they seem well developed proportionally speaking... I have always done a lot of compound back work and have just always put it down to that

I used to walk into a room full of people & wonder if they liked me..... Now I look around & wonder if I like them

I probably don't do enough isolations , I pretty much only do delt isolations. All the rest is compound, but thats more a result of doing full body rather than a split

Professional rugby players train their necks in various ways. They have specialist kit and helmets for this.

Good for boxers. Remember seeing Tyson in an upside down crab position rocking back and forward on his head working his neck I guess. Looked crazy!

I've never even considered specifically working out my neck.

No, never trained my neck.
