Why Casein/Cottage cheese before bed and not mmmmeat?

O.K. so its recommended to have a slow release protein before bed but isn't all meat slow release?  So is it just as good to have some meat before bed as it is a Casein shake or some CC?

In all fairness, have eaten it in past before bed as it is caseinated protein source that drip feeds you through the night. But the same brands are now a lot lower in protein per 100g and highed in carbohydrate about 9g/100g and 5-6g/100g respectively.

As it stands I use the Bulk Powders calcium caseinate as it is much higher in protein and lower in carbohydrate, and gram for gram is better value.
However if i've overlooked ordering a new tub, I will eat steak before bed, and probably would prefer it but costs a damn sight more.
