Wimp.

Help.

Tried a new chest\Tri routine today.

Tricep Ext 3 x 7 - 22kg
Flat Bench press 3 x 7 - 40kg
Skull Crushers 3 x 6 - 22kg - Failed 2nd set 4th rep
Machine Flyes 3 x 6 - 18kg

Just need some inspiration. Not happy with progress in the past month or so, so tried changing from a routine that has helped me make great begginer gains.

Just couldn't find the power today. I think the exercises are in the wrong order and i struggled on the skull crushers.

please help restore my morale!!!

what do you eat before you train? i sometimes experience the same, i go in the gym and jus cant lift the same. my energy levels jus deplete so quickly after the first couple of sets.
I find eating a good sized meal an hr/ hr half before i go in the gym helps me to get thru the whole session without dropping reps and sets in my exercises.

i would also def do chest first. your guna hit your tris heavy if the weight in your presses are heavy enough. iv learnt so much from frankies 5x5 routine. look at that.

Do chest first, drop flies and add wide dips or inclines. For tris do narrow dips, bench dips or close grip bench.

4-5 sets of each exercise, 4-6 reps

I usually have a Whey shake about 30 mins before I go. I can usually get through it ok, but changing the routine has just knackered me.

I will take a look at that routine ad19. and thanks dave, will amend the routine.

Thats not enough to give you the energy you need.

Try having some carbs about 1.5 hours before your workout, I find that helps.

same here. If your working hard enough in any routine u need carbs. i have a good sized meal, carbs meat and veg before i train. an hr and half is good for me, but make sure you dont feel full when training! not pleasant!
