World Cup 2006. Round up thread.

It comes to an end tonight and what a month its been.

I thought a final thread to cover all the highs and lows would not go a miss.

Discuss your thoughts on the last 4 weeks of football please

For me, well its gotta be the terrible reffing during this world cup which has brought a downer on the event. Some class football and some shock defeats too, but some poor choices made by the officials IMHO.

Thoughts please?

Cheers, Rich

Nice thread Trident... My opinion on this Worl Cup. It has to be one of the worse World Cups I have seen. I think the expectations were too high, and alot of disapointments. England failed to impress me, whith the big namkes they have got in the team. I wanted to see what the hype of Ronaldenio was about, he failed to impress me too. Only guy who impressed me was Zidanne. And I learnt Portugal is just a plain Dirty Team. Its digusting.

I think ENGLAND sums it up for me, yet again.

I gotta say that some of the big teams have failed to impress me during this world cup.

I can remember seeing Brazil go out and being totally lost as to the sheer lack of 'magic' they showed (compared to other owrld cups). they seemed to look so ordinary, yet they have some fantasic players,

Very strange night for me that was

heartbreak for me again as england put on there worst performance in years though sven didnt help with his team selection and tactics

seeing argentina score an incredible goal 24 passes was a great highlight aswell as seeing joe cole score a screamer

some great performaces from the so called little teams ghana ect...

the refs where terrible this year and some really bad decisions

watching the italy vs germany game was good as you could see italy just wanted it so badly that they went for it

some terrible cheating going on with players diving this needs to be sorted out

apart from that germany have been great hosts with little trouble there its been well organised

Well that was an interesting headbutt from Zidane. Wasn't expecting that. But to be fair the guy did have his arm round him, which imo is unaccaptable as well.
