I can see England probably beating Russia if they win tonight, Croatia would be tight, can’t in all honesty see them beating France and deffo not Belgium.

England v Croatia in the semi finals. I have no idea if that's good or bad. Russia would have been supermotivated to beat us so perhaps Croatia might be the easier game. England will still be underdogs imo. Croatia have some real quality.

Lots of the lower tier national teams have done their homework this year
Personally i thought Argentina,Brazil ,Germany was complacent spain was doomed day the manager was sacked only team with an excuse
Croatia could be a tough gig but play like they did today v Russia we should progress to the Final
my 12/1 on england looks good green up or let it ride is the Dilemma now

Well Sweden were truly flat, pedestrian, piss poor and asked very little questions. What a tedious boring side they are. Got to be the worse Sweden team for a long time. I know they have a history of been boring but they very poor today. Is anyone any good?

Would loved to have see Russia England. Any team can win this world cup. France and Belgium are the best left but their not that good.

I don't mean to be negative, but if the Sweden that beat Mexico and Switzerland turned up today, then England might have gone home. Sweden just didn't turn up and that's what gives me hope.

Perhaps teams just aren't turning up against England. Always beware teams that aren't playing particularly well yet manage to grind out results. That's this England team.

England played well, especially considering Sweden just sit back and put 11 men in defence.

Sweden were terrible in all fairness, certainly the worst team to ever play in a World Cup quarter final.

England did enough, but were far from great, anyone who sees that as a good performance, clearly doesn’t watch much football, at times it were like watching two pub teams play.

But I’ve always believed better players bring out the best in themselves against better opposition, and Croatia are certainly that.

Rakitic from Barca and modric from madrid will take some getting the better off in midfield, so Jordan Henderson will have to play the best game of his life in all honesty.

But on the day we could win, but we will certainly need to raise our performance level, because if we make some of the mistakes we’ve been making we could simply end up embarrassed against a good side, and let’s be honest we haven’t played a good side yet other than Belgium, but luckily that didn’t mean much.

If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

We won't beat Belgium or France I don't think but everyone else is for the taking.
They didn't have to be great and you can only beat the team that is put in front of you. To put two past a defensive team is good, especially when it should have been more, Sterling can't finish his dinner.
Pickford is now a world class goalkeeper, Southgate is clearly doing an excellent job.

England have been very consistent throughout the tournament. The young lions will bring it back home ! It's coming home....

I take someof my critism back , England played well and did enough to win convincingly , a 7/10 effort , no standout players or moments of brilliance yet we still won , this is a good sign that it's a decent team , when I look back and compare it to the Beardsley/Gazza/linneker team on paper back then we looked world class , now we look ordinary but doing the job every game , hard to say we are playing well or just beating inferior teams , or are we making them look inferior ? No reason we can't go ink and win it .

Pickford was once again quality doc. Completely commands the defence now, it's great to see. Like Schmeichel used to be.

Realistically England could have been 2-0 up going into the first half. Now it's the second half of extra time. I'm beginning to think that the Football Association have shares in Prozac.

Edit: Croatia have just scored. Gutted.

England haven't done really well to reach the Simi finals, they have done what was expected given the route.

As soon England play a team with some quality they are out. They have simply been lucky with the teams they have played. Its been an easy route.

We need to see this England again in Euro 2020 and World cup 2022 to judge them properly

A great first half for England but in the end I think Croatia edged it and its the right result

Agreed, people are way over hyping us for beating Tunisia, Panama, Colombia minus James Rodriguez, and a terrible Sweden side who’s best player can’t even get on the bench for Man Utd at times.

Fact is, we played two decent sides at this World Cup and lost both times.

Semi final on paper sounds good, but when you see the quality of the opposition we had to beat to get there, then we quite simply should have.

If you love something let it go,if it comes back to you it's yours,if it doesn't it never was.

Come on guys, we had a young inexperienced team who played their hearts out. Well done to the lads for coming this far.

Well done yes, but they have not done really well. As said they did what was expected

I still expected nothing pre tournament and was very pro negative betting wise on England

The England of 5-6 years ago would have done the same

What has this England done which past England teams could not have done?

In my eyes these tournaments aren't as competitive as they were.

The deep rivalry and big villains are gone. It doesn't have the same feeling anymore

Look at euro 96 or France 98, look how competitive that was.

They played with pride and heart but perhaps still not like the 1990 team

The bottom line is they are not that good

They did what was expected

Out when played quality opposition

It was great watching England go as far as they did. It will be interesting how this team pans out over the years

Belgium will be a test on Saturday.

I want to see England beat a biggish team like Belgium

I'm not really a football fan but I just watch England matches. So what happens now that Harry Kane has scored the most goals? Does he get something for it ?
