a little nutrition advice please...

hey everyone, im not nessesarily a bodybuilder, but i am looking to gain some muscle either way. im a hardgainer so up untill now, i havnt had much luck.

Because of school, my eating program is somewhat irregular:
breakfast 7am
small meal 10am
small meal 1pm
large meal 4pm
(work out)
dinner 7pm

i get between 20 and 40 grams protein and enough carbs in each.
now i am also going to start taking a weider weight gain suppliment twice a day. when would be the best times to take it? when i wake up and after workout, after workout and before sleep or neither. i just dont want to overload on calories in the last few hours of the day. sorry if this is hard to understand, im new here. id appreciate any advice.

    Hi mate.welcome to MT

Your eating pattern doesnt look so bad to me....a few good meals and then a few small meals is a good way to go....

Of course its the choice of food in those meals that is important.....

If you want to add weight you need to try to ensure you are getting at approx 1.5g per lb of DESIRED bodyweight....and prob 2g of more of carbs per lb of desired bodyweight.....then add up to 1000 fat calories per day from good sources of fat like oily fish, nuts etc and you have a base or starting point to bulk from.

Train hard and heavy.rest well.......and let nature take it course.....your at a great age to start too!

I wouldnt worry too much about weight gainer really.list up a sample diet and let ppl see if that needs attention before you spend cash no weight gainer...

a simple whey protein might be a better idea..we normally take a scoop or so in water on waking and again after training

thanks for the advice guys, i really appreciate it. i will post a sample diet of mine once i have actually worked out a decent one. for now im just experimenting with different foods and different times. one more question though: is it ok to train everyday as long as i work different muscle groups or am i not going to gain any weight that way?

personally I train 4 times a week doing a new bodypart each time.

basically legs on sun, shoulders mon....back and bicep weds, chest and tricep fri.

I like that split....but there are many combos......I woldnt train every day cos its too much IMO
