aakg / caffeine mix

Hi guys. I don't normally post in this forum, I've always been sure my supps are spot on, but I have a question.

In my pre-workout shake, I have either aakg, or caffeine, depending on weather I want a pump (if working out chest shoulders, biceps) or if I want a pick-up (legs and back days if needed.)

I never mix the two, as one vaso-dilates and the other vaso constricts.

Now lots of pre wo mixes have both. more and more are mixing the two, so how are they working? Or is it a case of the supps companies throwing anything in that inflates the price?

I think I know what you are on about cos I have read somewhere that you should not take Nitric oxide products with eph/caffeine for the reasons you mentioned.

Mind you I occasionaly use No xplode and it contains both caffeine/aakg and that seems to work brilliantly. Also they say never to mix creatine/caffeine and again No Xplode contains both.

If I had to choose between the two I would pick caffeine pre workout everytime.

    Hi James.

I suppose my question is why do they add them? Are the guys who are mixing these as qualified as they would have us believe?

The caffeine and the aakg/nitric mix directly combat each others effects, but to an untrained eye it looks like a good product (aakg for pumping, the caffeine to pick you up.)

Or do they know something I don't?

Not really making accusations, just want to understand it.

TBH Im not sure. All I can say is the stimulatory effects of caffeine are unrelated to its effects on blood vessels, so they two could work together.

Some info on caffeine here: http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/article-caffeine-bodybuilding.aspx
