advice needed on grip training

hello all
when doing static lifts or pinching plates should i choose a weight i can hold for a certain amount of time say 10 or 20 seconds, whats the best amount of time to hold for max strength gains?

    i would say go with what ur comfortable with... i personally hold them up for about 20 seconds or so... but then again there are ppl who train their support grip by simply shifting the heaviest weight possible and holding it for like 5 seconds or so

    personally i go for 5-10 secs. If i make 10 secs, i up the weight.

    I do static holds or pinches for as long as it would take me to complete a deadlift (about 7 or 8 seconds). Grip for dedlift is what im primarily interested in, so thats the duration I do my grip work for.
