advice needed to help my auntie :)

Hi all. 
 
I have an auntie who is 49. She has a far bit of weight around her stomach. She is by no means obese. 
 
She is trying hard in diet and cardio to lose the extra weight.
 
With regards to cardio can anyone advise me on what her heart rate should be to keep in the fat burning "zone'.
 
She currently only does 45mins twice a week on the cross trainer at level 3 but finds this pretty easy. She does have work commitments and several teenage kids that take up a far amount of time. She is losing weight slowly but wants to step it up a bit.
 
I made a simple uneducated suggestion of trying to do 3-4 sessions a week in the morning if possible. She gets a little bored for the 45mins so i suggested putting the cross trainer up a level and dropping the time to 30mins. She doesn't wanna try other equipment..
 
Just want some advice from trainers really so i can pass it on to her, Im pretty proud of the effort she is putting in and want to see her keep it up.

    More sessions 3 or 4, and whats her diet like?

    i don't know her complete diet but she does eat healthy. Her carbs are watched really carefully.
