    It makes sense to me.

The longer you train the stronger you get.

But if you started training at 40 and I started training at 20 on the same weights. In five years the 25 year old would be stronger.

Thats a scientific fact, theres no evidence to back it up but its a fact

Comes with anything guys, the more you train, the better you get - unless health holds you back - why should you stop progressing?

I'm just having a joke bud , i agree totally as it takes years to build up to acertain stenght on certain exercises and althought test levels are lower and gh levels normally you will have already got think muscles which has been made stronger year after year but still if you don't have the genetics and the right build , right diet etc. it dos'nt matter how hard you try or how old you get you still may never be stronger than the guy with excellent genetics

    age verse youth

    ENOUGH SAID

i think you have me all wrong buddy

it was a light comment and why would anyone have a paddy over some old person claiming there stronger then most young people i do not know

as for your muscles getting more mature i would imagine when you have been doing something for so long your body adapts to it
to me its like riding a bike the more practise you put in the more better you become at riding it

you will also have the effect of muscle memory so should you stop doing what you do then re-start after a few years it will be easier for you to go back to it

the thing to remember is you might be strong at your age now but there could be a younger person with good genetics who is stronger everyone is different maybe your hitting your peak right now maybe your diet and training have improved in the last year ect...

has for more stamina when older here is my light joke for you

    Q. why do so many older women prefer younger men?

    A.stamina

    Q. why do younger women prefer older men

    A. more sexual experience

you wouldnt last mate the old guys would kick your but

    Ok.

We have Bbig, 30 or 31? Very strong chap, very strong indeed.

    Now we have you, 45.

For those who know bbig (as an example, hope he doesn't mind) - I wonder who would win with strength.

I rest my case fella, it doesn't go by age, your comment is quite judgemental "you wouldnt last mate the old guys would kick your but". Very judgemental. Depends on too many variables on who would kick whos but (not that your comment is very precise).

Experience of training, what their work lifestyles are like, their health in general, what their nutrtion is like, weather or not they are natural. Age is just "there" and means f*ck all as far as I'm concerened. If you are 45, trained since you was 16 and used gear back and fore since then, I would expect you to be stronger than us younger lads and I would expect you to be a strong bastard providing your health is in check.

Then you could have someone say 28, been training for 5 years, the 45 year old been training for 1 year, the 28 year old has been using gear for the last 2 years and naturally strong. The 45 year old isn't.

End my case - thats why you cant use age, and thats why you cant be judgmental on who would "kick whos but".

Too many other variables to concider.

I would agree that the older lifters usually lift more as they have bean lifting for a longer period of time. However if you take a group of older non-gym users(40+), and a group younger non-gym users (17+) and got them to train for a few months, I would imagine the younger lads would progress alot faster and be able to lift more due to better hormone levels, recovery times etc..

i appologise for taking you the wrong way.what you say is feesable i am refering to what i have noyiced in gyms and older people in general ie thicker arms, heavier set bodies etc,yes i agree that some people are never going to be strong as they dont seem to be made that way.on the issue of stamina few bodybuilders are of a young age when the top prizes are won.and few people with youth ever win long distance racesie olympics, marathons etc.the reason why women prefer younger men in few circumstances is to make them feel young again .and show everyone they are not ageing.as you get older you will understand women more but if u want i will explain more to you lol

The stamina thing - few bodybuilders of a young age win prizes - once again this is due to experience. Dorian, Coleman - both examples, they took years of competing and not coming "first" before they did. And when they did they were of an older age. It's the same with everything, working your way up in a work placement - the lot, it's all down to experience, the better you get and adabt to what you are doing, the better you come overall.

kicking but was my attempt at humour i dont mean to be judgemental.as i said in the beginning dont want to upset the youth or anyone else for that matter.i take your point on the variables.there does however seem to be more older people in good health benefiting from their age, experiance, wisdom etcwinning the top prizes in strength competitions as well as bodybuilding competitions.remember that lifting is also in the mind and not just pure strength.i would have been better advised if you could have mentioned more than one or even a few guys who are young to put your point accross.thanks anyway
