    get your shoulder checked out.
have you tried cables or machine raises? do these affect your shoulder in the same way?

Shoulders are a very complex muscle group and I would say are the easiest to injure.

When u get ur shoulder checked, u will hear the doctor say "Do not do resistance training"
I recommend a sports doctor they're more openminded.
I used to get a clicking, and then i started taking glucoseammin, chondrotin, MSM supplements (they all come in one pill)
Try some cod liver oil I hear it helps, but i havnt tried.
It is imperative that u get it checked by a doctor. Pain is good sometimes.. but not always
    Also try changing shoulder exercises
