another 5x5 question

started 5x5 training this week so going easy on the weight....but if i lift 100kg on bench i used to do 8,6,4

so on 5x5 i could do 5 easy, 5 easy, 4,4,3

does that sound right?

feels like i am not really pushing first 2 sets.

Try it with a bit more weight IMO. The first 5x reps you do after you have warmed up should be challenging. So you'll probably find that if you did 110Kg as an example - 5x hard, 5 very hard, 4 hard, 3 hard, 2hard reps per set when you first start out. The secret to 5x5 is training with high intensity so theoretically the only easy sets you do should be the warmup sets. Whe you find that sets's 3 and 4 are fairly easy then I'd add a little extra weight on again.

so it is unlikely that i personally will ever get 5 on teh last set unless some of the earlier sets are way easy

Yep. That's about it. You can change up the weight each time you get to 5 sets of 5 reps but personally I feel that this defeats the HIT element this is based around so the 5x5 is really the theory but if you train to the highest intensities then you shouldn't have enough in the tank to get to 5 reps on the last set IMHO.
