Yeah i am in recovery from from drug and alcohol addiction and have been clean for nearly 7 years. I had to detox in a hospital from Heroin & Crack and it wasnt very pleasant but the best move i have ever made in my life. You just have to stay strong and when you feel like bolting just remind yourself what you can gain from this positive move.

And be proud of yourself for facing it and not running away...i respect you.

No offence mate but that comes across that you`re not going out of choice ?
The biggest step is admission and that YOU accept YOU need to do something about it, once this is done you have a far better chance of making it

My ex is currently on a 12 month(reviewed at various stages) detox rehab residential course, she`s doing really well at the 6 month stage, from my experience with it all if she can do it anybody can but you just have to have the right frame of mind and the right motivation.
    Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. The place I am going is a drug, alcohol and eating disorders. drugs and alcohol have totally ruined the past 15 years of my life and put my family through hell. Made me feel better already

Have to admit I am a bit drunk now. But it's going to be the last day. I am medically trained as well. So it's not like I am ignorant. then i can stop upsetting the moderators, other muscletalk members and people in general. I always think I am funny when pissed, but when I read back on my comments on here, I cringe with embarrassment

Good luck. I have quite a bit of second hand experience via my ex gf. There's some good rehabs, some sh1te ones. A lot depends on the motivation of the staff. If they are the vocational type, then great; but if they are doing it purely as a job then they'll do what most people do and do as little as possible to earn their wages. That includes turning a blind eye to things that would cause them hassle to confront, including drinking/doing drugs (at night, especially) in the unit.

    Again, good luck!
